Capabilities
Everything a startup needs, held permanently.
A venture builder does not assemble capability for each new company. It holds strategy, talent, brand and product, technology, go-to-market, capital, growth and exit expertise, and deploys them venture by venture.
Strategy
We define the opportunity, the proposition and the business model, and set the route to value creation before anything is built.
Where it applies - Heaviest at Ideate and Evaluate, then again when the model changes after launch.
Talent
We assemble multidisciplinary teams around each venture - strategy, product, design, marketing, sales and finance.
Where it applies - From Create onwards: the founding team first, then commercial and leadership hires.
Brand & product
We create the brands, products and experiences customers want to use, and iterate them against real market feedback.
Where it applies - Create and Incubate, when the proposition becomes something a customer sees.
Technology
We architect and build scalable technology platforms, engineered to support each venture from MVP through to exit.
Where it applies - Incubate through Scale, from MVP architecture to a platform that holds under load.
Go-to-market
We create the commercial engine - positioning, sales and marketing - required to acquire, convert and retain customers.
Where it applies - Launch and Accelerate, where pricing, positioning and pipeline are proved.
Capital
We provide access to investment throughout the company's development, with capital at every stage.
Where it applies - Staged from pre-seed at Incubate through to Series A at Scale.
Growth
We use data, metrics and disciplined execution to accelerate growth and compound enterprise value creation.
Where it applies - Accelerate onwards, once acquisition is measurable and worth repeating.
Exit
We prepare each venture for a successful exit or independent future, realising value for the founders and investors behind it.
Where it applies - Scale, where enterprise value, structure and diligence readiness are built deliberately.
Why it matters
Capability is the difference between a plan and a company.
A capital-only model funds a team and waits to see what it can assemble. A venture builder brings the assembly with it. That shortens the distance between deciding to build something and having something a customer can use.
It does not remove the risks of building an early-stage company. Markets move, customers say no, and ventures are stopped. It changes how quickly the venture learns that, and what it has in place when it acts.
