UK businesses raise commercial finance through brokers, yet the software those brokers rely on is dated and fragmented. Cases are tracked across spreadsheets, email and lender portals that were never designed to work together. We saw two connected opportunities: run a modern brokerage properly, and build the platform the wider broker market is missing.
We co-founded Business Finance Market and built both brands through our venture process. That covered the commercial model, achieving FCA authorisation for the brokerage, and designing and engineering the Xova platform with our own technology team. We continue to support the business through its growth phase.
Finance Nation is the FCA-authorised commercial finance brokerage. It is the operating business: it generates revenue, proves the model in a regulated market, and acts as the pilot customer for Xova, so every feature is tested against real cases, real lenders and real compliance requirements before it reaches anyone else.
Xova is the commercial broker SaaS platform. It is piloted and used daily by Finance Nation, and built to be licensed to other commercial brokers, initially in the UK and then globally. Running the brokerage alongside the software means the product is shaped by operators rather than by assumptions about how broking works.
The platform was architected in-house for configuration and white-label licensing, so each brokerage can reflect its own process, lender panel and branding without a bespoke build. Case management, document handling and lender workflow sit in one system, which is the part brokers currently stitch together themselves.
Business Finance Market is in its growth phase. The focus is growing Finance Nation's lending volumes and broadening its lender relationships, while taking Xova to market as a licensed product for the wider broker community, using the brokerage as live proof that the platform works at scale.
